President Obama Signs Miller’s West Los Angeles Leasing Act Into Law

WASHINGTON — President Obama today signed H.R. 5936, the West Los Angeles Leasing Act of 2016, into law. The bill, introduced by Veterans’ Affairs Committee Chairman Jeff Miller, permits the Department of Veterans Affairs to enter into enhanced-use leases of up to 50 years on the West Los Angeles VA campus to provide permanent supportive housing for homeless veterans.

The House passed the bill by voice vote on September 12; the Senate followed on September 19.

The President also signed H.R. 5937, Miller’s bill authorizing the Secretary of the Interior to allow the replacement of the Lafayette Escadrille Memorial in France, on the same day.
